Updated Affinity Publisher, Designer, and Photo apps on Windows 10 and 11 with big improvements

Affinity’s suite of image editing and design apps, Publisher, Designer, and Photo, all updated for Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices this week.

This update, known as update 1.10, focuses primarily on performance and significantly increases speed, resource loading, and processing speed across all three applications.

“The first area of interest was memory management in Affinity Publisher,” explains an article on the official Affinity blog. “This has been completely rewritten and now allows large documents, even with thousands of pages and several gigabytes of linked images, to offer instant load times, smooth live editing and scrolling. , super-fast panning and zooming on all files.

“In Affinity Designer, our main area of interest was the rendering engine and seeing how we could improve the handling of very complex documents, potentially with hundreds of thousands of objects or layers.

Affinity Photo is also getting a significant boost with an emphasis on layers and how they have been blended. “This new approach offers options to maintain smooth performance even after creating very complex compositions, while still maintaining a non-destructive workflow,” the blog explains.
